There’s a minor complication, though. The front crossbar of the frame has signs of prior damage where the bumper assembly mounts to it
, likely from when it did a pit maneuver on some poor sap.
I also discovered the radiator had gotten compressed, causing a mounting tab for the fan assembly to snap. The radiator is bowed upward, interfering with the shroud.
But me and my friend got a car for $500. A 2007 Crown Victoria in silver birch metallic. More photos of the Queen’s damage below. Note how the bumper cover got stuffed into the bumper frame assembly... That trailer scored a perfect hit.
If you look closely at the last one, you can see the bumper assembly and the crossbar side profile that's been bent forward.

IIRC, when I replaced the front crossmember on my Vic, a brand new one was pretty cheap (~$100). I paid some guy like $150 to do the welding work.
Good that you found a later model, as they changed the bumper in 03.
You’ll make your $500 back in leftover parts. Does the “new” car have anything fun, like track-lok?

Yup. 3.27 LSD. It’s a popular option in the pnw. Other than that, nothing special except a lot of loose bullets in the car.
